Bugar, Paul R. #2 (14 JAN 1930 - 3 MAR 2007)
Paul R. Bugar, 77, Loyal, died on Saturday, March 3, 2007, ay Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, from injuries he sustained in an automobile accident. Visitation will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, on Friday, March 9, from 4-8 p.m. A rosary service will be conducted at 6:45 p.m. by the Knights of Columbus, followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service. Visitation will continue on Saturday, March 10, at the church, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Rev. Roman Kaiser and the Rev. Bernard Raschke will be co-celebrants and burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Scott Bugar, Gerald Bugar, Richard McGuire, Edward McGuire, Joseph Rueth, and William Rueth.
Paul Raphael Bugar as born on Jan. 14, 1930, in Colby, to Ignatius and Gisela (nee Fitzel) Bugar. He was raised on the family farm and received his education in the Loyal area, graduating from Loyal High School in 1948. He started Paul Bugar Trucking, hauling canned milk for area farmers and vegetables for the Loyal Cannery. He was drafted into the U.S. Army on Oct. 23, 1952, and served overseas, in Germany, until his discharge on Sept. 28, 1954. During his military service, his brother Don, operated his trucking business. He married Cecelia Rueth on Oct. 11, 1958, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. He expanded his trucking business into hauling sand, gravel, logging, aglime, and sludge. His wife, Ceceilia, died on Jan. 19, 1971. In 1972, he formed Bugar Brothers Construction with his brother, Leo, and started a gravel crushing business. He married Barbara (nee Lawrence) on May 4, 1974, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Vesper. In 1992, he stepped aside and continued to work with his children in the business. He was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and a member of the Knights of Columbus Our Lady of Fatima Council #4963. He had many interests, but especially loved spending time with his family, politics, and heavy equipment auctions. he and his wife, Barbara, continued to live in Loyal until the time of his death.
He will sadly be missed by his wife, Barbara, Loyal; three children, Mary (Dean) Hoesly, Granton, Paul J. Bugar, Loyal, Susann (Wayne) Scheel, Loyal; 11 stepchildren, Lawrence (Lois) Brostowitz, Port Edwards, Barbara (Christopher) Kluck, Rosholt, Joanne Miloch (Bill LaBarge), Arpin, Peter (Denise) Brostowitz, Mukwonago, Leonard (Vickie) Brostowitz, Marshfield, Mark (Suzan) Brostowitz, Aurora, Ill., Roxanne Miller, Waunakee, Suzanne (Dennis) Ebert, Nekoosa, Paul (Susan) Brostowitz, Loyal, Diane (Rick) Brussow, Loyal, and Polly Ann Thomas, Naterville.; three grandchildren; 25 step-great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Bugar, Loyal, and Alvin (Carolyn) Bugar, Eau Claire; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his first wife Ceceilia; one step-grandson, Luke Brostowitz; five brothers, Raymond, Ignatius, Joseph, Leo, and Robert; and one sister, Helen McGuire.
Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, is assisting the family with arrangements.
